At Michael Smith Switchgear we understand the importance and implications of loosing power and having readily available spares for LV Switchgear, ACBs and MCCBs for a disastor situation.

Over the years ee have been developing a quick solution to retrofit Schneider Merlin Gerin ACBs from Masterpact M to Masterpact NW through the entire range of sizes from 800A to 6300A. 

The procedure requires a small shutdown and then at the end of the shut down the old Merlin Gerin Masterpact M ACB is removed and the new Merlin Gerin Masterpact NW ACB is installed, along with the new chassis, intergrated control (if applicable), and readily available spares.

Michael Smith Switchgear retrofit any ACB and can replace any manufactures ACBs with new ACBs.  The works will be arranged at a time to suit the business needs and with minimal disruption.

The role of lv switchgear is:

National and international standards define the manner in which electric circuits of LV installations must be realized, and the capabilities and limitations of the various switching devices which are collectively referred to as lv switchgear.

The main functions of lv switchgear are:

Electrical protection at low voltage is (apart from fuses) normally incorporated in circuit-breakers, in the form of thermal-magnetic devices and/or residual-current operated tripping devices (less-commonly, residual voltage- operated devices – acceptable to, but not recommended by IEC).

Schneider’s Merlin Gerin NSX Range of MCCB Released

Schneider released their new range of MCCBs (The NSX Range) in November 2008, and sine then Michael Smith Switchgear have used these as a standard.  These MCCBs fit within the same physical space as their previous model (The NS range) with the option available to add numerous more amounts of accessories.

Other Materials are still being used to customer requirements.
